Pregnancy Update - Week 26

The countdown has begun. I am ready to get this show on the road. I don't like that I can't bend down, comfortably, to get something off the floor. I get frustrated when my belly gets in the way. Getting out of bed 3 times a night to use the restroom is getting really old. I am ready to get this show on the road. Don't get me wrong, I am so thankful we have been blessed with #2, and a girl at that! I am just ready to get this show on the road.... I have said that already, haven't I?

I go in for my 27 week appointment tomorrow. I think Haley has slowed her growing down a little bit. I just feel like I grew so much last month. You can see for yourself down below in the photos. I also go in for an echocardiogram with my cardiologist on Wednesday. I met with my cardiologist last week and he shared with me the results of my 24 hour halter monitor. He also shared with me the comparison of my last 24 hour halter monitor I wore with Carson when I was experiencing the tachycardia. The results were completely different, and I expected that. Because what I am feeling now is completely different then with Carson as I explained in my 23 week post. Sure enough, the test with Carson's pregnancy showed periods where my heart would race and get upwards of 140 bpm at rest. This time, my heart didn't race as frequently or as fast, I was experiencing PVCs, Premature Ventricular Contractions. In 24 hours the monitor picked up over 9500 PVCs. They were either bigemeny or trigemeny, meaning every other beat or every third beat would be a PVC. My doctor was not concerned about it as it can be common in pregnancy and the general population as a whole. Women who are pregnant may experience more exaggerated symptoms due to increased blood volume and overall stress on the body. The only minor concern the doctor had was that what I am experiencing this time is completely different that the last pregnancy so he ordered an echocardiogram. The results of my first test back in 2008 were normal. I fully expect these to be normal as well. Just a precautionary test to rule anything out.

Pregnancy Highlights:

How far along
26 weeks - 6 months

Symptoms
  • I am still feeling rather well. My energy levels have remained high.
  • Lots of PVCs...really no rhyme or reason as to when they come on.
  • My feet start to ache a little in the evenings.
  • My back aches a bit when sitting in my office all day. So far its nothing like the issues I faced with Carson's pregnancy that sent me to the chiropractor 3 times a week for the last couple of months.
  • Just big and getting bigger. All the issues that come along with getting bigger have been a bit frustrating.
Weight gain: 16 lbs total

Movement:
Haley is so active. I can feel her kick and I will push back on her and she gets even more active. She is especially active after I eat. And she is usually awake right before I go to sleep at night when I am laying in bed. I assume she is adjusting her position to get more comfortable now that I am laying down.

Preparations:
I took all of Carson's baby bedding out of the nursery and made a fantastic sale on Craig's List. I was super excited about that! I have also made an appointment to sell my old maternity clothes and Carson's baby clothes at a consignment store in a couple of weeks. Trying to sell all of that on Craig's List or eBay is exhausting and time consuming. My mom will be here on October 20th and I am super excited!! We will be putting Haley's nursery together while she is here. I can't wait!!!

Belly Shots:
Here are a couple of 25 week photos that I never got around to posting.

25 Weeks

Sorry Mom. I tried to take a few full body shots and could not seem to coordinate myself enough to hold the camera, align myself in the mirror, and smile. Ha! I will be sure to have Brian take a few non - headless shots next time.

26 Weeks
January 2008 - Here is a 27 week comparison shot from Carson's pregnancy. Looks like I am carrying much lower with Haley then I did with Carson. And I can feel it too! I feel like she is about to fall out at any minute.

26 Weeks - My belly looks a little more pointy with Haley and more round with Carson
