Thirty-two things that change when you have a baby

I found this list on Babycenter.com. I can stand by each and every one of these. Life after baby is simply amazing!!! Being a parent is God's greatest blessing. I never knew I could love this deeply. Don't get me wrong, I love Brian and my family with all of my being...but the love you have for your child is a different kind of love. The kind of love that makes me love Brian and my family even more. It is the kind of love that makes me want to be a better person. I want to be EVERYTHING to my son. And the day he was born, I promised I would. That means every day is harder than the last to accomplish that, but every day is more rewarding than the last as well.

1. You finally stop to smell the roses, because your baby is in your arms.
2. Where you once believed you were fearless, you now find yourself afraid.
3. The sacrifices you thought you made to have a child no longer seem like sacrifices.
4. You respect your body ... finally.
5. You respect your parents and love them in a new way.
6. You find that your baby's pain feels much worse than your own.
7. You believe once again in the things you believed in as a child.
8. You lose touch with the people in your life whom you should have banished years ago.
9. Your heart breaks much more easily.
10. You think of someone else 234,836,178,976 times a day.
11. Every day is a surprise.
12. Bodily functions are no longer repulsive. In fact, they please you. (Hooray for poop!)
13. You look at your baby in the mirror instead of yourself.
14. You become a morning person.
15. Your love becomes limitless, a superhuman power.

And from our readers...

Pepa's Ranch

We went for a visit at Pepa's ranch out in Junction this past weekend. This time Carson was a little older so he could enjoy it more. I am sure each visit will be more exciting than the last.
I edited these photos of Carson, thanks to Val's tip of picnik.com. Aren't they cool? If you haven't gone to that site and you are a photo freak like me...check it out http://www.picnik.com/

Carson loved Pepa's hat! Too cute!!!

And he loved the horses! Clyde was especially gentle...although Mommy is hurting today after riding him this weekend. Ouch!

Carson loved watching Mema's new horse, Tripoley "Trip", eat Pepa's grass in the backyard.

And he REALLY loved riding DeDe! I can't wait to watch Carson chasing her around the ranch in a few months.

What's that Mommy???

Sleeping baby

I just had to post these pics of Carson from last night. I love how he fell asleep cuddling his bottle. I gave him his bottle at 6pm so Brian and I could sit down to eat. Let's just say he has not adjusted to the time change yet. He goes to bed between 6 and 6:30 and wakes up between 4:30 and 5am.

Wall of toys

Carson is definitely on the move! He mastered crawling last week and now its hard to keep him contained! I thought the "Wall of toys" might do the trick for a few minutes...nope! He escaped!!!
Coming to get you Mommy...
Getting closer...
Almost there...

Here I am Mommy!

I do love it that he crawls to me and trys to climb on me. He loves to snuggle! My favorite snuggle time is when Brian gets him in the morning and brings him into bed with us to watch his favorite cartoon, the Backyardigans. Carson snuggles up with me. I prop him up on pillows and then I lay down next to him. He always manages to scoot down low enough so he can lay his head on mine...I just love it!!!

Dog toys...not baby toys

For some reason Luke's toys are always more appealing than Carson's toys.
But isn't that the way it always is with Big Brother's toys???

On the move...

Check it out...I am officially on the move!

My shadow

Carson found his shadow this morning....
Who is that following me???

Hello shadow.

Game Day - Go Gators!!!

Anything in there for me Uncle Josh???

All gone...not for baby!

Austin Half Marathon

Brian and I have decided to train for and run the Austin Half Marathon on February 15th, 2009. Yeah!!! I am posting this on our blog so all of our friends and family know about our goal and help keep us motivated!!! I have added a ticker on the right side of the blog to see our count down to the race. Wish us luck!!! We will keep you posted on our progress. For those of you that have run a half marathon or marathon before, we would love any and all of your training and motivation suggestions. Feel free to comment on this post. We would love to hear from you. And if there are any other motivated bloggers out there that would like to run with us in February, we would love to have you at the starting line with us. Let us know!!! Even if you aren't in the Austin area, what a great excuse for a trip to Austin (hint..hint...) If running isn't "your thing", no problem, we would still love to have you at the finish line cheering us on. What a great way to loose the baby weight...yeah!!! Brian and I start our training tomorrow, 99 days and counting...

Carson's first Halloween

Mommy took the day off work and we joined Amanda, Finley, Laurel and Elle at Old Settler's Park for a Toddler's Fun Day.

Carson's favorite thing to do in his stroller....nap.
Then we went to Grandma Karen's house to show her Carson's costume. He had so much fun rolling around. Karen took some great photos!

Then we went to the Gordon's house for dinner and trick-or-treating. Carson was so cute while we were all out on the front porch snapping pictures before we went out trick-or-treating. He just sat there holding his belly...sooo cute!

Finley and Carson
Finley, Carson, and Leana

Daddy was so proud of his little monkey :-) Mommy took Carson to Daddy's work earlier in the day to visit him for lunch and show off his costume.
I'm ready to go trick-or-treating!
Miss Finley pushed Carson the whole time! She is going to be a great big sister.

Week of Oct 27th

I love my crunchies...
And so does Luke! He looks forward to those that land on the floor :-)
Check out my first 2 teeth!

Playing with mommy before she left for Phoenix for 3 days on buisness. Yes, mommy survived....barely.

I just love this look on his face!

Check out my skills! Carson is very mobile these days.

Coming to get you mommy...
